In
’83 while working toward my commercial art degree,
I became fascinated with airbrushing. After graduating,
I airbrushed t-shirts and license tag while also doing
layout and design at a printing company. In ’88,
I was hired by an illustration and design studio as
an airbrush illustrator. At this job my airbrushing
skills developed quickly. In ’91, I created Airbrush
Designs. Working mainly as a freelance illustrator,
I painted my helmet when I began racing motocross (After
a 10 year layoff). With that one painted helmet, I began
getting more and more jobs. Most of the jobs consisted
of helmets and motorcycles. In ’94, Airbrush Designs
became a total custom painting shop. Throughout the
years, helmets have been painted for several drivers
in the NASCAR industry. Hendrick Motorsports, Roush
Racing, Brian Vickers Motorsports, Mark Martin Enterprise,
Labonte Motorsports, Petty Enterprise and Bill Davis
Racing are a few of the better known clients. In motocross,
many of the riders qualifying for the Loretta Lynn’s
amateur nationals are wearing helmets with paint schemes
created by Airbrush Designs. Helmets of all forms of
motorsports have been painted and each one shares an
extremely high quality and attention to detail. So,
whether it’s a helmet to wear, a motorcycle to
ride or a print/original to frame and hang, let Airbrush
Designs create a masterpiece that you’ll be proud
of.
